At Woodson and Son, we recently tackled a unique project to fulfill a client’s specific request. They wanted a custom log store that provided practical storage while also hiding services like pipes and cabling on their home’s facade. To achieve this, we focused on creating a design that combined both functionality and style. This approach turned unsightly utilities into a visually appealing feature that enhanced the property’s overall charm.
Creative Approach to Hiding Services
Our team carefully designed a structure to conceal the pipes and cables while maintaining easy access. By integrating an accessible panel into the log store, we ensured the utilities could still be reached when needed. Additionally, we crafted the store to seamlessly match the property’s aesthetic. This transformation turned what could have been an eyesore into a charming and functional addition.
Bespoke Design Features
To complement the house’s existing roof coverings, we selected reclaimed Staffordshire Blue tiles. These tiles added a rustic and cohesive look to the structure. We also designed the store’s height to sit just below the windows, creating a balanced and pleasing appearance. The equal-sized bays provided generous storage space for logs while discreetly hiding the pipes and cables behind an easy-to-access panel. This thoughtful design ensured the structure blended effortlessly with the home’s architecture.
